Grizzly Bear foraging on the tundra

At Denali you can see the seasons progress in rapid succession. In the spring approximately 152 species of birds migrate to the park to breed and nest in the arctic tundra. These birds join the 37 species of mammals and an incredible array of flowering plants to add motion and color to the landscape. The midnight sun of summer is followed by the glorious color of autumn and the spectacular northern lights signal a swiftly approaching winter season. The park is especially suited for climbing and hiking with terrain ranging from gentle slopes to the rugged peaks of the Alaska Range. It is also a place in which to experience the wilderness, to capture its many moods on film, to hear its story told by those who love it, and to create memories of a visit to this magnificent land.
